Pursuing my MBA at the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia has been one of the most transformative experiences of my career.

As someone coming from a digital marketing and SEO background, I used to see business strategy as a set of tools, frameworks, and planning models.
But through this MBA journey, I discovered that strategy is actually about mindset, people, and adaptability.

Here are the 3 biggest lessons that changed how I view business strategy 👇

💡 1️⃣ Strategy is not just planning  it’s vision and adaptability.

In every business module, I learned that a plan is only as good as your ability to adapt it.
Markets shift, customer needs evolve, and technology changes overnight  so strategies must be flexible and forward-looking.
True strategy means having the vision to see beyond the present, anticipating change, and positioning your organization to stay relevant.

It’s not about predicting the future  it’s about preparing for it.

👥 2️⃣ Leadership means influence, not authority.

Leadership is no longer defined by titles  it’s defined by how you inspire others to act.
During group projects, I saw how diverse perspectives create better solutions when everyone feels heard and valued.
An effective leader practices empathy, communication, and emotional intelligence, building trust across teams and cultures.

I learned that great leaders don’t just direct  they connect, empower, and elevate those around them.

🚀 3️⃣ Innovation starts with curiosity.

Innovation doesn’t always come from big ideas  it often starts with small questions like,
What if we do this differently? or Why not try another way?

This mindset encouraged me to explore creative solutions beyond the textbook.
Whether it’s improving a marketing campaign or building a new product concept, curiosity opens the door to continuous learning and strategic growth.

The most successful businesses don’t just react to trends  they create them through curiosity and experimentation.

Final Thought:
My MBA journey reshaped how I think about strategy  not as a fixed plan, but as a living process that combines vision, empathy, and innovation.
Because in the end, strategy isn’t only about competition  it’s about creating sustainable value for people, businesses, and society.
